From Bug hotels to Clogs

There is a bit of a change here in Mytholmroyd – we’ve had rain, but also some sun. The resulting overblown, wild appearance of our embankments is causing concern here abouts. We are definitely not a ‘parks and garden’ environment, but even I have to concede that something must be done! The recently installed ‘bug hotels’ are being hidden from view by rampaging we..ds, I mean wild flowers! Therefore the tidy brigade will be in sight very soon!

Last week we enjoyed a visit from our young artists of the local Academy – Burnley Road; the ‘unveiling ceremony’ of the youngsters’ art was done by the Mayor of Hebden Royd Cllr Pat Fraser whose elegant poise was not disturbed by the arrival of a Shield Insect on the back of her neck – the scholars to the rescue as they gently removed the bug – obviously a visitor to our 4*Pollinators hotel exploring the available treasures of ‘Royd! A fitting finale enjoyed by everyone, including our Mayor – I think… but it was definitely a happy event. Thank you every one!
