April bits and pieces

Mytholmroyd Station Partnership.

Weekend of Work49 spring clean -150411 - 3962-2

This weekend has drawn 40 volunteers to help maintain the good order we now all enjoy on the station and its surroundings.

49 spring clean -150411 - 3972-1

Volunteering time, skills and energy has a wonderful way of (unexpected) repayment; there was a shared feeling of surprise and delight that eight years of hard work and planning had finally come to fruition as we looked at the colourful array of spring flowers on all the embankments with satisfaction and with pride. Our differing skills are freely given, and appreciated by many.

The icing on the cake was the platform tubs; the central shrubs are finally covered in blossoms!

We thank our parish council for its far-reaching plan to keep Hebden Royd welcoming and pleasing for visitors and residents alike; our sponsors and supporters for their ongoing and continuing support.

Cycling on Railway stations

Long before cycling became as popular as it is now – Cycleroute 66 was directed down the station approach here at Mytholmroyd.

There are now some serious conflicts between station users and cyclists who ignore the notices pointing out that it illegal to cycle on station property

The pedestrian-only notices have been installed – but  a minority of cyclists ignore.

If you have any problems please contact British Transport Police – either
