History Bits – 01

Do you remember Harold, former Station Master here at Mytholmroyd?

Let us know please – and anything other anecdotes you recall about the station, railway etc of bygone years.

The picture below was taken at the 2007 Mytholmroyd Gala when Harold came to visit with his daughter.

A special exhibition was mounted by Michael Allen and his son.

We would like to hear your comments on this, or any other aspect of our station.

  1. Anyone know friends, relatives or neighbours who worked at Mytholmroyd station?

Has anyone got any old phots of the station and the staff in the old shoeboxes in your attic?

Mytholmroyd station was built 7 years after the Manchester to Leeds Railway was opened – who was instrmental in getting the station built?

Where was the first station sited in 1847, it probably was not where it is now.
